also, in islamic culture and belief, they beleive an eye for an eye. is this not how a muslim in an islamic country should be punished, its there culture and customs, let them get on with it themselves.

How can you tell people off for murdering if you murder murders???

if he is kept alive, he will aways be in the background,and have a claim with the people. once gone the counrty can finally settle down. furthermore, he has been convicted of the crime of murder. in the law code he laid down, the punishment is hanging, therefore he should be punished like any other common criminal in his country.

doesnt matter wat he did the death penilty shouldnt be an option. wat right do you have to take another persons life. if you do you are just as bad as he is. ( plus i dnt think he should be hung because the americans set it up so that the trial was other there so he would be killed straight away. just for that reason i dont think he should

I think you're quite right.. If we murder a man for murder then we are also committing murder.

saddam should die. death is death. what he has done needs to be accounted for.

Of course it is.. but I don't know of anyone else awaiting a public hanging. My question was perhaps ambiguous but the point still made I think. The death sentence in itself is babaric is it not.

No, not in a million years, the guy is a complete and total power and control freak.... Anyone who murders innocent should be put to death. Its a shame that capital punishment isn't alive and kicking in the UK

No matter how evil this man is/was.. we must, as a Global society, remain a civilised society. Death by hanging is totally barbaric. If he must be sentenced to death, then lethal injection is "more" acceptable.

A number of developing countries still practice hanging, unfortunately. Do you think for the people, affected by Saddam Hussein's own barbaric acts, hanging is too a barbaric death for him? I guess that it is a fairly subjective question being hard to know what they feel. It would be nice if someone from Iraq would voice their opinion here :)
